Racing NSW advise the Inverell meeting scheduled for today is postponed following 17ml of rain overnight. A stewards track inspection found track to be unsuitable for racing.

Racing NSW advise the Deniliquin meeting scheduled for the 19th October has been postponed. A Stewards inspection has deemed the track unsuitable to race with there being surface water following 45ml of rain.

Cairns to Innisfail (QLD) - Friday 25th October 2024

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the race meeting scheduled for Cairns Jockey Club on Friday, October 25, has been transferred to Innisfail Turf Club.

The transfer has been made to facilitate an extension to the track renovation period at Cannon Park.

Commensurate with the change, there has been amendments made to race distances on the program hence it now comprises:

Open Handicap, was 950m, is now 900m;
Class 6 Plate (Set Weights), was 1250m, is now 1200m;
Benchmark 70 Handicap, was 1400m, is now 1500m;
Class 1 Handicap, was 1250m, is now 1200m;
Benchmark 55 Handicap, was 1400m, is now 1500m;

Racing NSW wish to advise the Lismore Cup which was set to be run today on the postponed Lismore meeting will now be conducted on the Grafton race meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 1^st October 2024.

The Grafton track is rated Soft-6 at present.

Today's Hawkesbury meeting has been postponed. With rain having fallen throughout the day a section of the track near the winning post now has surface water pooling which has made the track unsuitable for racing.

Townsville (Qld) to Bowen - Friday 27th September 2024

Racing Queensland confirms that the race meeting scheduled for Townsville Turf Club on Friday, September 27, has been transferred to Bowen Turf Club.

The transfer has been deemed necessary after an inspection of the track at Cluden Park determined that the racing surface would be best suited to an extension of its renovation period leading into the club’s next race meeting on Sunday, October 6.

The change has necessitated amendments to some races and distances on the program and accordingly it now comprises:

Open Handicap, 1200m, remains as programmed;
Benchmark 70 Handicap, 1400m, is now 1470m;
Class 3 Plate, 1200m, remains as programmed;
Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1609m, is now 1810m;
Class 2 Handicap, 1400m, is now 1470m;
Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1000m, remains as programmed;
Maiden Handicap, 1200m, remains as programmed; and
3yo Handicap, 1200m, remains as programmed.

The apprentice claims for this meeting will remain as Provincial status.

Ipswich (Qld) - Friday 16th August 2024

RQ advises that following a track inspection (by club officials and QRIC Stewards) the Ipswich Turf Club race meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, August 16, has been postponed and rescheduled, and will now be run on Monday, August 19. Said inspection took place following the rain deluge in South East Queensland over the past 72 hours.

The same race fields will be retained, and all scratchings reinstated for the meeting.

Gunnedah (NSW) - Friday 16th August 2024

Racing NSW Stewards have inspected the Heavy-10 Gunnedah track following a further 5mm of rainfall overnight and have deemed the track unsuitable for racing. As a result the meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, 16th August 2024 has been transferred and will now be conducted at Tamworth racecourse.

The Tamworth track is currently rated a Heavy-10 and suitable to race with the rail position +3m 1200m-300m, True Remainder.

As a result of this transfer, some race distance and barrier limit amendments apply.

The annual Middlemount RC Cup Non-Tab meeting on Saturday August 17 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting scheduled for Sunday, August 18, has been transferred to the Poly Track.

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the barrier trials scheduled for the Gold Coast Tuesday 13 August have been postponed to Thursday 15 August.

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that to facilitate proposed development site remedial works at Eagle Farm there have been further changes made to the South East Queensland racing schedule in the coming weeks. The latest meeting changes comprise:
• Thursday, September 12 – was Ipswich Turf Club, is now at Gold Coast Turf Club @ Beaudesert;
• Monday, September 16 - was Gold Coast Turf Club @ Beaudesert, has been removed.

The aforementioned changes have resulted in amendments to the previously published programmes in respect of each meeting.

St George (Qld) - Saturday 27th July 2024

The annual St George JC Cup non-Tab meeting on Saturday July 27 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

The track is still wet underneath from rainfall earlier in the month, which has hindered track preparations due to less than ideal drying conditions. Further rain is also forecast for Friday and Saturday.

Horse entered at St George, can nominate/accept for any other Queensland race meeting where acceptances have not been taken. From that end, acceptances for the Longreach JC non-Tab and Toowoomba TAB meetings on Saturday have been extended until 11.00am today. Please contact Racing Australia if you wish to nominate/accept.

Due to the abandonment, additional races have been added to the Roma TC non-Tab meeting on Saturday August 3. They are:

Cranbourne (Vic) - Thursday 18th July 2024

Racing Victoria (RV) advises that the meeting scheduled for Cranbourne this Thursday, 18 July has been transferred to the Sportsbet-Pakenham Synthetic track.

The Cranbourne track has been deemed unsuitable for racing this week due to the impacts of ongoing rain with over 41mm falling since 9am yesterday.

As a result of the transfer, the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate and 0-62 Handicap have been reduced to 1200m, while the BM58 Handicap has been reduced to 2200m.

In addition, field limits have been reduced to 12 for six races, with a field limit of 11 in place for the two 1600m races – a Maiden Plate and BM64 Handicap.

Acceptances for the transferred meeting have been extended until 11am today with riders to be declared by 2pm.

Trainers who had accepted for the Cranbourne meeting, but do not wish to start their horse at the Sportsbet-Pakenham Synthetic meeting are requested to withdraw it by 11am today.

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the race meeting which was originally scheduled for Rockhampton Jockey Club on Friday 28 June has been abandoned as the track has been deemed unsuitable for racing due to recent rainfall.

As a result the following races have been transferred (with scratchings reinstated) to the Rockhampton Jockey Club program on Sunday 30 June. It is:

• Ratings Band 0 – 55 1300m; and
• Two Year old Maiden Handicap 1100m

Coonamble (NSW) - Wednesday 19th June 2024

Racing NSW advise after a track inspection conducted by RNSW Stewards, it has revealed an improved Coonamble surface however still sections of the track that have been deemed unsuitable for racing. As a result the race meeting scheduled for Coonamble Wednesday, 19th June 2024 has been transferred and will now be conducted at Dubbo racecourse. The Dubbo track is currently rated a Soft-7.

Please note there will be no race distance amendments however Race 3 Country Boosted 3YO&UP Maiden Handicap 1200m will have the field limit reduced from 14 starters to 12.

Cloncurry (QLD) Sunday 2nd June 2024

The Cloncurry & DRC non-Tab race meeting postponed until today has now been transferred to be conducted by the Mount Isa RC at Buchannan Park racecourse.

The meeting features a qualifier race of the Battle of the Bush Series.

Jockeys riding at the Cloncurry race meeting aired concerns about certain sections of the Cloncurry race surface and in the interest of all stakeholders it was decided to transfer the meeting to Mount Isa.

Due to the change, the distance of the Benchmark 65 Hcp will be amended to 1450m (previously 1400m). All other racing details remain as was originally scheduled for Cloncurry.

The first race will now commence at 1.00pm with 30 minute intervals between races

There will be no fees for any scratching from this transferred meeting.

The Cloncurry & DRC non-Tab meeting scheduled for Saturday June 1 has been postponed to Sunday June 2 due to weather/state of track. Approximately 4mm of rain was recorded and following a QRIC track inspection, the track was found to be unsuitable for racing on Saturday.

The first race will commence at 10.30am with 30 minute intervals between races

Any scratchings lodged for the Saturday meeting will be reinstated for Sunday’s meeting.

Tambo (QLD) Saturday 1st June 2024

The Tambo Cup non-Tab meeting on Saturday June 1^st (previously postponed) has now been abandoned due to weather/state of the track. Light rain began falling Friday afternoon continuing into Saturday and a further track inspection at 8am has found the track unsuitable for racing for both Saturday and Sunday.

The club will now stage the Tambo Cup at their August 3 race meeting.

Racing NSW advise due to the current heavy (10) rating of the Gosford Racecourse and with the weather forecast of further rainfall, including on raceday, it has been decided to transfer the Gosford meeting scheduled for Saturday 11th May to Newcastle where the track is currently rated as being soft (7).

The transfer of the meeting will necessitate the variance in distance of the races detailed below:-

Gordonvale Rescheduled to Mareeba (QLD) - Saturday 11th May 2024

The Gordonvale TC non-Tab meeting on Saturday May 11 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Mareeba TC.

Following intermittent showers recently, a QRIC Stewards track inspection late yesterday afternoon found the majority of the Gordonvale track rated a Soft 6/7, however there are concerns about a section of the track at the 450m which is extremely heavy - which is currently just raceable on the proviso of no more rain (which is forecast).

In the best interests of the industry, the Gordonvale club, with the assistance of the Mareeba TC, have decided on the rescheduling to Mareeba.

The Bundaberg RC non-Tab race meeting scheduled for Saturday May 4, has been abandoned, due to the state of the track.

Rain on Thursday night was followed by further rain on Friday making the track unsuitable for racing.

Consideration was given to postponing the meeting to Sunday, but logistically this could not be achieved.

Due to the abandonment, the Battle of the Bush Qualifier Open Hcp that was on the program, has been rescheduled to be conducted at the Esk JC meeting on Saturday May 18. Details are:

Racing Queensland and the Gold Coast Turf Club have advised that the up-coming TAB Hollindale Stakes Raceday on May 11 will be transferred to the Sunshine Coast.

Staged as part of the Queensland Racing Carnival, the Hollindale Stakes was successfully run at the Sunshine Coast last year, establishing a new wagering record for the meeting while the Gold Coast course proper was being rebuilt.

Having conducted planned drainage works and sand grooving immediately following The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions in January, significant rain and humidity has impacted the return to racing at Aquis Park, with stakeholders committed to undertaking a cautious maintenance programme.

The Innisfail TC non-Tab meeting on Saturday April 27 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Mareeba TC.

Following consistent rain earlier in the week and showers earlier today, a QRIC Stewards track inspection this morning found the Innisfail track would be raceable with the proviso of no more rain (which is forecast). However in the best interests of the industry, the Innisfail club, with the assistance of the Mareeba TC, have decided on the rescheduling to Mareeba.

Any scratchings from the Innisfail meeting will be reinstated for the Mareeba meeting. Due to the rescheduling, there will be no fees for this meeting.

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting today, Sunday, April 21, has been abandoned.

The decision has been made following a track inspection, the outcome of which was the determination that parts of the racing surface are not suitable for racing on following very heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours.

Consideration was given to the potential transfer of the meeting to the venue’s Poly Track however this was not deemed viable at such short notice, with the accuracy of wagering information being at the forefront of those considerations.

Rockhampton (Qld) - Monday 8th April 2024

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that following a further track inspection this afternoon the Rockhampton Jockey Club (Capricornia Sales) Race Meeting which was rescheduled from Saturday, April 6, to tomorrow, Monday, April 8, has been abandoned.

And, whilst the weather in the area has improved, the rainfall which has occurred subsequent to the meeting’s original postponement has been sufficient for officials to deem that the track is not suitable for racing on tomorrow.

RQ has, following the abandonment, collaborated with RJC officials to reschedule the club’s two flagship Cap Sales Races (2yo Classic & 3/4yo Classic) to its next meeting which is programmed for Thursday, April 18. Fresh nominations/acceptances for these races will be called for, however for ballot purposes, those horses which were original acceptors for the two races will be afforded preference. Nominations aside, the remainder of the conditions pertaining to these remain as have been previously published.

It has also been considered necessary to reschedule the Open (1200m) Handicap which has been lost through the abandonment & accordingly that race too has been added to the April 18 program – this meeting will now comprise 12 races.

Deadlines (Nomination/Acceptance) for the 3 rescheduled races on April 18 will be the same as have been previously published by RQ for the race meeting in its entirety.

Doomben (QLD) - Saturday 30th March 2024

The Brisbane Racing Club race meeting at Doomben today, March 30, has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

Whilst the majority of the track is considered safe to race on, the chute areas at the 1600m & 1350m start points are not, a consequence of the significant rainfall which fell in Brisbane on Wednesday/Thursday & Friday evening. Consideration was given to amending the distances of some of the races on the program for the meeting to proceed, however the changes would be too significant for that to be a viable option.

RQ & BRC are also considering the potential to reschedule the meeting in its entirety to tomorrow (Sunday), however the likelihood of the affected parts of the track recovering in time for that to take place is deemed remote. Stakeholders will be advised as soon as possible of the final position in this regard.

Participants with racing engagements at the meeting will be advised of the abandonment by way of SMS messaging.

Gold Coast Turf Club Race Meetings - Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20 - Transferred to Poly Track

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that the Gold Coast Turf Club race meetings scheduled for Saturday, April 13, and Saturday, April 20, have been transferred to the Poly Track at Aquis Park to provide a window for completion of works on the Course Proper.

The changes have necessitated amendments to some races and distances on the programmes for both meetings, the detail pertaining to which follows:

Saturday April 13:

Benchmark 68 Handicap, 1200m, remains unchanged ($50k);
Class 4 Handicap, 1800m, is now Benchmark 62 Handicap, 1900m ($28k);
Class 2 Handicap, 1400m, is now Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1540m ($28k);
Class 2 Plate, 1000m, is now 1050m ($28k);
Ratings Band 0–58 Handicap, 1200m, is now Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1200m ($28k);
Maiden Handicap, 1400m, is now 1540m ($30k);

Murwillumbah (NSW) - Saturday 30th March 2024

Racing NSW Stewards have conducted an inspection of the Murwillumbah racetrack after 85mm of rain in the last 7 days and have deemed the surface unsuitable for racing. After an extended period of rainfall in the northern part of the region Racing NSW Stewards conducted inspections of alternative venues, however determined the tracks to be rain effected and also unsuitable for racing.

The race meeting scheduled at Murwillumbah 30 March 2024 has been postponed.

Augathella (Qld) - Monday 1st April 2024

The annual Augathella RC non-Tab race meeting on Monday, April 1, has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

Approximately 100mm of rain was recorded earlier in the week, with further showers on Thursday making the track unsuitable for racing.

RQ has scheduled a replacement non-Tab meeting for the Central Warrego RC (Charleville) on Saturday, April 6, with similar race program and prizemoney.

Flinton (Qld) - Saturday 30th March 2024

The annual Flinton RC non-Tab race meeting on Saturday, March 30, has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

The Flinton racecourse received approximately 40mm of rain earlier in the week, but further showers on Wednesday/Thursday have made the track unsuitable for racing.

A phantom (betting meeting) will however be conducted by the club with all facilities available on course.

RQ will liaise with the club regarding a future replacement date.

Mareeba (Qld) - Saturday 30th March 2024

Following 75mm of rain on Tuesday, the Mareeba TC non-Tab meeting on Saturday March 30 has been abandoned due to state of the track with a replacement meeting scheduled for Sunday April 7.

A QRIC Stewards inspection identified a section of the track from the 600m to the 300m as extremely wet. Further showers are forecast in the coming days.

The replacement meeting will be the same 6 race program and prizemoney, as was scheduled for March 30. Fresh nominations are to be lodged with Racing Australia for this meeting.

Nominations for this meeting close at 11.00am Tuesday 2/4/24, with acceptances closing at 10.00am Thursday 4/4/24.

Sunshine Coast (Qld) - Sunday 31st March 2024

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that the race meeting scheduled for Sunday, March 31, at Sunshine Coast Turf Club has now been transferred to the venue’s Poly Track following a continuation of heavy rainfall in the area. And, whilst the decision has been made relatively early the forecast for the next few days is for a continuation of the rain deluge and even if the rain does cease at any stage prior to Sunday, the course proper could not be raced on.

Racing Queensland advises that following an inspection of the track at Mackay TC this morning the club’s race meeting on Tuesday, February 13, will not proceed.

The decision has been made following the determination that a return to racing on the track on Tuesday could, following its recent renovation, cause significant damage to the racing surface leading into the club’s subsequent meeting on Friday February 23 and indeed compromise it in the longer-term.

RQ has however, as a consequence of the Mackay unavailability, sought to secure an alternative venue for the meeting in its entirety however that has not been possible. Given this, additional races will be added to the programmes for the Rockhampton JC & Townsville TC race meetings on Friday February 16 & Tuesday February 20 respectively.

Gatton (Qld) - Monday 22nd January 2024

The Lockyer Valley TC race meeting tomorrow, Monday, January 22, has been rescheduled & will now be run the following day, Tuesday, January 23.

The decision has been made in the interests of participant and equine welfare with temperatures predicted to reach as high as 39 degrees at Gatton tomorrow. The temperatures are however forecast to reduce to a manageable 29 degrees on Tuesday.

The same race fields will be retained albeit race times will be amended once Sky has rebuilt the broadcast schedule for the day to accommodate the additional race meeting.

Scratchings transacted thus far will be reinstated and any scratchings made subsequent to the meeting’s reschedule will not attract fees.

Innisfail (Qld) - Saturday 16th December 2023

The Innisfail TC non-Tab meeting scheduled for Saturday, December 16, has been abandoned due to weather (Cyclone Jasper spin-off).

Over 100mm of rain has been recorded at Pease Park over the past three days with the weather forecast predicting further rainfall over the coming days.

There was also logistical and safety concerns for all participants (including travelling to the meeting etc).

RQ will evaluate race programming in the Far North region to ascertain if additional races need to be added to upcoming race meetings.

Racing NSW wish to advise the Scone race meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Friday 8 December 2023, has been transferred due to extreme heat and will now be conducted at Gosford racecourse.

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) are predicting a high of 40 degrees for Scone and in the interest of horse and participant welfare the decision has been made to transfer to Gosford where more favourable weather conditions are forecast.

As a result of this transfer some race distance amendments apply.

Calliope (Qld) - Tuesday 26th December 2023

The annual Calliope JC Cup non-Tab race meeting scheduled for Boxing Day – Tuesday December 26, has been postponed.

The club made the decision following their determination that the track may not be ready for racing, as a delay in the delivery and installation of outside running rai,l impacted the track maintenance schedule.

Calliope JC will seek an alternative date in early 2024 to conduct the postponed race meeting.

Traralgon (Vic) - Sunday 3rd December to Sunday 10th December 2023

Racing Victoria (RV) and the Latrobe Valley Racing Club wish to advise that the bet365 Traralgon Cup meeting has been postponed from this Sunday, 3 December to Sunday, 10 December owing to recent rainfall.

RV Stewards inspected the track this morning and determined the surface would not be suitable for racing this Sunday due to the track receiving 48mm of rain this week with an additional 30mm expected over the weekend.

The program for the postponed meeting on Sunday, 10 December will remain unchanged, however trainers will be required to renominate by 12pm on Tuesday, 5 December with acceptances closing at 10:15am on Thursday, 7 December.

Barcaldine (Qld) - Saturday 2nd December 2023

The Barcaldine RC non-Tab meeting for Saturday, December 2 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

This followed a QRIC track inspection this morning (160mm rain in the past week) which found sections of the track are still water-logged and not suitable for racing. There is also forecast showers/storms for the next couple of days.

The club will however conduct a “phantom” betting meeting on Saturday December 2 with all facilities available.

Consideration was given to rescheduling the meeting, but could not be achieved, due to logistical issues.

RQ will liaise with the club regarding a replacement date for later in the season.

Due to the abandonment an additional race – Benchmark 60 Hcp 1615m of $10,000 plus QTIS, will be added to the Emerald JC program on Sunday December 10.

RQ will also be aggressive with any division of races at this meeting. Noms close Tuesday 5/12/23 at 11.00am.

The Barcoo ARC (Blackall) non-Tab race meeting on Saturday November 25 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

The decision was made following a track inspection this morning which found sections of the track had surface water and the remainder of the track was extremely wet underneath.

Approximately 35mm of rain has fallen at the Blackall racetrack since the weekend and the forecast is for further showers.

Horses nominated for the Blackall meeting can nominate at other Queensland venues where acceptances have not been finalized.

Additional races have been added to the Barcaldine RC non-Tab program on Saturday December 2. They are:

Ingham (Non TAB) (Qld) - Saturday 18th November 2023

Following an RQ and QRIC track inspection, the Herbert River JC (Ingham) non-Tab race meeting scheduled for Saturday, November 18 has been cancelled.

An extended dry period with no rainfall, together with the club having limited access to water sees the track too firm to be suitable for racing.

Consideration was given to rescheduling to another club, but the current dry period and existing racing calendar meant a replacement venue could not be sourced.

Due to the cancellation, RQ will be aggressive with any potential division of races in the region and additional races have been added to the following race meeting:

PENTLAND RC – SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25

BURDEKIN RC – TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that an extension of the track renovation process at Cairns Jockey Club has rendered it necessary for the club’s (Sunday) November 5 TAB race meeting to be transferred. The club had hoped to be in a position to host the meeting however with a view to ensuring that the track is at its absolute best for its racing resumption it has been considered prudent to delay that return.

Accordingly, the meeting has been moved to Innisfail Turf Club and as a by-product of that there has been some changes made to race distances on the program. They comprise:

Open Handicap – was 1250m, is now 1200m;
Class 6 Plate – was 1400m, is now 1500m;
Benchmark 70 Handicap – was 950m, is now 900m;
Rating Band 0-60 Handicap - remains unchanged at 1500m;
Class 1 Handicap – was 950m, is now 900m;
Benchmark 55 Handicap – was 1250m, is now 1200m;
Maiden Handicap – was 1250m, is now 1200m; and
QTIS 3yo Handicap – was 950m, is now 900m.

The race meeting will retain its apprentice claims status as ‘Country’ and the minimum handicap weight applicable to it will now be 55kg (as opposed to 54kg previously).

Trainers should also note that nominations already transacted for the race meeting at Cairns will be automatically transferred to the Innisfail meeting. Conversely, if trainers have already processed nominations for Cairns but wish to withdraw as a result of the meeting’s transfer, then please contact Racing Australia to do so.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that Monday’s meeting scheduled at Bet365 Bairnsdale has been transferred to the synthetic track at Sportsbet-Pakenham owing to the impacts of recent wet weather.

The Bairnsdale track has received 105mm of rain over the past seven days, 45mm of which has fallen in the past 24 hours, and with cooler conditions set to remain over the weekend, the track is unlikely to be safe for racing before Monday.

Tara (QLD) to Dalby - Saturday 7th October 2023

The annual Tara RC non-Tab race meeting on Saturday October 7 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Dalby & NDJC at Bunya Park racecourse. Ongoing hot and dry conditions (including no rain) have made the Tara track unsuitable for racing, necessitating the rescheduling to Dalby.

The Tara RC will however conduct a “phantom” betting meeting with all facilities available.

The Dalby racing program and prizemoney will be as originally scheduled for Tara with a minor change to the distance of the Maiden Plate to 1000m (from 1050m). The feature of the meeting will still be the Country Cups Challenge Qualifier – Open Hcp 1400m.

Nominations lodged for the Tara meeting will automatically be nominated for the Dalby meeting (NB If not wishing to start at Dalby must contact Racing Australia and withdraw nomination). Nominations for the Dalby meeting will be extended to 12 noon Wednesday 4/10/23.

Cairns - Saturday 5th August 2023

The Cairns JC TAB race meeting scheduled for Saturday August 5 has been abandoned due to weather/state of the track.

Ladbrokes Cannon Park racecourse has received approximately 50mm of rain over the past week, but persistent showers this week has not resulted in any drying weather leaving the track unsuitable to race on. Further showers are forecast up until raceday.

Innisfail (Qld) to Cairns - Saturday 5th August 2023

The Innisfail TC TAB race meeting on Saturday August 5 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Cairns JC at Ladbrokes Cannon Park racecourse.

More than 80mm of rain has been recorded at Innisfail’s Pease Park racecourse since last Wednesday. Persistent showers since then (with no real drying weather) will not see the track dry out and be suitable to race. Showers are also forecast for every day up until race day.

Due to the rescheduling to Cairns JC, there have been some amendments to race distances.

Nominations already lodged for the Innisfail race meeting will automatically carry-over for the rescheduled Cairns race meeting and will be extended until 10.00am on Wednesday. Acceptances will remain at 9.00am on Thursday with jockey declaration due by 12.00 noon Thursday.

Hamilton (Vic) to Casterton - Saturday 5th August 2023

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at bet365 Hamilton on Saturday, 5 August has been transferred to Casterton owing to the impacts of wet weather.

The Stewards inspected the Hamilton track today and determined the surface is not suitable for racing next Saturday given the track has received 249mm of rain over the past two months.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the two meetings scheduled at bet365 Mildura on 12 August and 9 September will be transferred to Kerang and Horsham respectively due to ongoing construction works.

The Mildura Racing Club is currently undergoing repair works to their amenities which were required following the flooding earlier this year.

Beaumont Newcastle (NSW) - Tuesday 25th July 2023

Racing NSW wish to advise the Beaumont Newcastle country race meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been transferred and will now be conducted on the Newcastle Course Proper.

Following 18mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours the Beaumont track is mainly a Heavy 8 however there is a section of the track at the 200m mark that is presently not suitable for racing.

The Course Proper is currently rated a Soft-5 with the rail position +10m.

Racing NSW wish to advise the Quirindi race meeting scheduled for tomorrow has been transferred and will now be conducted at Scone racecourse.
After a track inspection conducted by RNSW Stewards it has been determined that the Quirindi track is currently not suitable to conduct a race meeting on.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at Tatura on Monday, 17 July has been transferred to bet365 Echuca owing to the impacts of recent wet weather.
The Tatura track was inspected on Friday having received 115 mm of rain in the past four weeks, with the decision made to transfer the meeting in the interest of horse and participant safety.
Nominations for the Echuca meeting will close at 12 noon on Wednesday, 12 July and acceptances will close at 9am on Friday, 14 July.

Racing NSW wish to advise the Albury race meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 11th July 2023 has been transferred and will now be conducted on the Wagga course proper racecourse.

The Albury track has been inspected by RNSW Stewards after receiving 40ml of rain over the last seven days.

Due to significant surface water and a forecast for further inclement weather the decision was made to transfer to Wagga.

The Orange track has been inspected by RNSW Stewards after receiving 28ml of rain over the last 48 hours.

Due to significant surface water and a forecast for further inclement weather the decision was made to transfer to Wellington.

Ilfracombe (Qld) - Saturday 8th July 2023

Following a track inspection Wednesday afternoon, the annual Ilfracombe PRC non-Tab race meeting on Saturday July 8 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Barcaldine RC.

More than 40mm of rain was recorded at the Ilfracombe track earlier in the week, however there remain a couple of sections of track that are not drying out sufficiently.

Although the forecast up to race day is for fine weather, there could be no surety given that the track would dry out to be suitable to race on Saturday hence the option to reschedule to Barcaldine.

lfracombe will still stage a “phantom” betting meeting with full facilities on Saturday.

The Barcaldine track is expected to be in the “good” range by Saturday.

Due to the rescheduling to Barcaldine, there have been some amendments to race distances:

Open Hcp 1400m now 1300m

Benchmark 55 Hcp 1400m now 1300m

Nominations already lodged for the Ilfracombe race meeting will automatically carry-over for the rescheduled Barcaldine race meeting and have also been extended until 10.00am Thursday with acceptances now closing on Thursday at 12 noon. Jockey declaration will close at 1.00pm

There will be no scratching fees charged for this rescheduled race meeting.

Wodonga (Vic) - Sunday 9th July 2023

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at bet365 Park Wodonga on Sunday, 9 July has been abandoned owing to wet weather.

Further to the race meeting, the trials that were scheduled at Wodonga for Monday (10 July) will also be abandoned, with jump outs to be held on the Wangaratta Sand Fibre track in replacement.

RV’s Racing Operations team looked to transfer the meeting, however there were no available options in the north-east area. Instead, a new meeting has been programmed on Sunday, 9 July at Sportsbet-Pakenham on the synthetic track.

Nominations for the new meeting will close at 4pm today (Wednesday, 5 July) and acceptances will be taken at 9:30am tomorrow (Thursday, 6 July).

The Barcaldine RC TAB meeting scheduled for Monday, July 3 has been abandoned due to weather/state of the track.

Light rain commenced falling at Barcaldine racetrack on Sunday evening and has increased this morning. Continuing rain is forecast for the remainder of Monday.

Following a QRIC Stewards inspection this morning, the track was deemed unsuitable to race on.

RQ will liaise with the Barcaldine RC regarding a future replacement date for the TAB meeting.

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that the Ipswich Turf Club race meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 1, has been transferred to the Lockyer Valley Turf Club.

The transfer has been rendered necessary to preserve the racing surface at Ipswich Turf Club following the recent heavy workload it has endured and leading into the club’s flagship Ipswich Cup raceday on June 17.

The venue change has necessitated amendments to some race distances on the program. They comprise:
• Class 3 Plate - was 1666m, is now 1600m;
• Benchmark 70 Handicap - was 800m, is now 860m;
• Benchmark 65 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400m;
• Ratings Band 0–60 Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
• Maiden Handicap – was 1666m, is now 1600m;
• Maiden Handicap – was 1200m, is now 1100m;
• 3yo Benchmark 68 Handicap – was 1350m, is now 1400; and
• 2yo Handicap – was 1350m , is now 1400m.

The distance of the remaining race on the program, the Winter Sprinters Series Heat, remains at 1100m.

Traralgon Jumps Trials (Vic) - Thursday 6th April 2023

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that tomorrow’s jumps trials have been transferred from Traralgon to Yarra Valley. The Latrobe Valley Racing Club advised RV today that the Traralgon track remained in the Good range after weather forecasts had changed and that they would be unable to safely deliver the required Soft track for tomorrow’s trials.
The trial times will be pushed back one hour, with the first trial to now commence at 10am. Hurdle schooling will be available from 9:15am with steeplechase schooling available after the trials have concluded.

The same race program will be scheduled for the postponed race meeting on Saturday March 18 with fresh nominations called for this meeting. Nominations for this meeting will close at 11.00am on Tuesday 14/3/23.
Due to the Barcaldine postponement, the Longreach JC non-Tab meeting scheduled for Saturday March 18 has been rescheduled to Saturday March 25.
Again, the same race program will be scheduled for the Longreach meeting on March 25, with nominations closing for this meeting at 11.00am on Tuesday 21/3/23.
The additional week will also allow to Longreach track to dry out sufficiently to be suitable for racing.

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that due to the commencement of the track refurbishment works which are due to be undertaken at the Gold Coast Turf Club, the club’s race meeting scheduled for January 28 has now been transferred to the Poly Track.

The change has necessitated amendments to some race distances on the program. They comprise:

Racing Victoria (RV) advises that tomorrow’s (Monday, 21 November) meeting at bet365 Terang has been transferred to Casterton owing to the impacts of wet weather.
The bet365 Terang track was rated a Soft 7 yesterday (Saturday, 19 November) morning, before receiving 32mm of rainfall overnight.
The track was inspected today and deemed unsafe for racing due to excess surface water.
Therefore, a decision was made to transfer the meeting in the interests of horse and participant safety.
All scratchings are reinstated, with trainers having until 7:30am tomorrow to scratch their horses if they don’t wish to run at Casterton.

Following yesterday’s announcement that this Wednesday’s bet365 Kyneton Cup would not be run at bet365 Park Kyneton owing to the impacts of heavy rainfall and recent flooding, RV wishes to announce that the 2 November meeting has been transferred to Apiam Bendigo.

The Kyneton track – which borders the recently flooded Campaspe River – is not in a suitable condition to host the meeting, while patron areas are also affected. RV made the decision to transfer the meeting prior to acceptances at 9am tomorrow (Monday, 31 October), to give trainers time to make a decision about their horses.

The Apiam Bendigo track is currently rated a Heavy 8 with showers forecast from Sunday to Wednesday.

The significant rainfall across Victoria has impacted the Mortlake and Mt. Wycheproof tracks, as well as affecting racecourse facilities and surrounds, and accessibility to the respective regions.
The Mortlake track has received approximately 140mm in the past three weeks and 43mm since Friday, while the Mt. Wycheproof track has received 165mm of rain since the start of October and 60mm in the last seven days.

This Friday’s meeting at bet365 Park Kilmore has been transferred to Sportsbet-Pakenham’s synthetic track, owing to the impacts of wet weather.
The bet365 Park Kilmore track received 13mm of rain overnight and 58mm in the past seven days.
With more rain forecast over the next four days, an early decision to transfer the meeting has been made to give participants as much notice as possible prior to acceptances closing at 9:15am tomorrow (Wednesday, 26 October).

Owing to the impacts of continuing wet weather in the region, Racing Victoria (RV) Stewards have deemed the track at Hamilton unsuitable for racing and have taken the decision to transfer tomorrow’s meeting to Casterton.

The move to Casterton has prompted some alterations to the program, with distance changes made to four of the eight races and a minor reduction to the field limits in races six and eight.

As a result of the transfer, all scratchings have now been reinstated with trainers having until 7:30am (AEDT) tomorrow (Monday, 24 October) to withdraw their horses should they choose not to run them.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the Bet365 Yarra Valley meeting scheduled for this Saturday, 22 October has been transferred to Moe after the racecourse was inundated with flooding in recent days.

Whilst the flood waters have receded, there is considerable work to be undertaken for a race meeting to be safely conducted with the expected crowd.
With further rain forecast later in the week, RV, in consultation with Yarra Valley Racing, has elected to transfer the meeting to give participants and racegoers certainty.
As a result of this transfer, nominations for Saturday’s Moe meeting, along with nominations for Sportsbet-Ballarat (Thursday), Cranbourne (Friday) and St Arnaud (Saturday) have all been extended until 3pm today.
Yarra Valley’s next race meeting is scheduled for Saturday, 26 November and is expected to proceed as programmed.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at bet365 Park Kilmore on Sunday, 16 October has been transferred to the Sportsbet-Pakenham synthetic track, owing to the impacts of wet weather.

The decision was made to transfer the meeting to the synthetic track to ensure it proceeds.

Acceptances have been extended until 10.30am this morning (Thursday). Trainers who have already accepted for the Kilmore meeting and don’t wish to run their horse at the Pakenham synthetic track will need to withdraw their horse prior to the acceptance deadline.

There is only one distance change as a result of the transfer, the 2000m Race 7 becomes 2200m.

RV will continue to monitor weather forecasts over the coming days and its potential impact on scheduled race meetings, with significant rainfall predicted in parts of Victoria.

The Quilpie DRC non-Tab race meeting on Saturday November 5 has been rescheduled to be conducted by the Cunnamulla & DDRC.

More than 120mm of rainfall has been recorded at the Quilpie racetrack in the last week. There is sections of the track completely submerged and the club advised they would not be in a position to provide a suitable racing surface.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the Gunbower Cup meeting scheduled for this Saturday, 1 October has been abandoned due to the state of the track.
RV Stewards inspected the surface today with a section of the track between the 400m and 500m mark not suitable for racing due to considerable surface water.
The track received 14mm of rain overnight and this morning taking the total to over 35ml in the past week.
With further rain forecast throughout the week, the surface is not expected to dry out in time so an early decision was made to abandon the meeting so trainers could renominate for other races. Trainers in the abandoned race at Gunbower can nominate for meetings on Thursday, Friday and Murtoa on Saturday as normal entries until 5pm today.
RV is in discussions with the Gunbower Racing Club and Country Racing Victoria and will explore opportunities to reschedule the meeting.

Taroom (Qld) - Saturday 24th September 2022

The annual Dawson JC (Taroom) Cup non-TAB race meeting scheduled for Saturday September 24 has been postponed to Sunday September 25.

Approximately 20mm of rainfall was recorded on Wednesday night on the Taroom racetrack, on top of 40mm previously in September, making the track unsuitable for racing on Saturday.

Good drying conditions are forecast for the next 3 days and there will be a track inspection on Saturday afternoon.

Due to the postponement to Sunday, there will be no fees charged for scratchings from this race meeting.

Race times for the Sunday race meeting are:

Cunnamulla (Qld) - Saturday 24th September 2022

The Cunnamulla & DDRC non-TAB race meeting scheduled for Saturday September 24 has been abandoned due to the state of the track.

Approximately 10mm of rainfall was recorded on Wednesday on the Cunnamulla racetrack on top of 50mm the previous week, making the track unsuitable for racing.

Consideration was given to postponing the race meeting to Sunday, but the club could not source essential staff (eg ambulance) for this to occur.

Horses nominated for the Cunnamulla race meeting may nominate/accept for any other future Queensland race meeting where acceptances have not been declared (eg Taroom/Longreach etc)

Due to the abandonment, additional races have been added to upcoming race meetings in the Downs region. They are:

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the meeting scheduled at Horsham tomorrow (Tuesday, 20 September) has been transferred to Warracknabeal, owing to the impacts of wet weather.
RV Stewards inspected the Horsham track today (Monday, 19 September), deeming the surface not suitable for racing after significant recent rainfall.
With further rain forecast in the Horsham region tomorrow, Stewards determined the surface would not sufficiently dry out for racing by tomorrow.

All scratchings are reinstated for the Warracknabeal meeting, with connections having
until 7:30am tomorrow to scratch their horse free of charge.

Racing Victoria (RV) wishes to advise that the race meeting scheduled at Sportsbet-Wangaratta tomorrow (Friday, 5 August) has been rescheduled to Monday, 8 August owing to the impacts of wet weather.

Kilcoy (Qld) - Tuesday 12th July 2022

Racing Queensland (RQ) advises that following a track inspection the Kilcoy Race Club race meeting programmed for tomorrow, Tuesday, July 12, has been abandoned.

The track has been closely monitored over the past week in the hope that an improvement in the weather might potentially provide an opportunity for it to dry out in time for the race meeting to proceed. Despite that, there are unfortunately still two areas of the racing surface (near the 500m point on the circuit) which have not dried sufficiently for tomorrow’s race meeting to take place, with rider and equine safety being the absolute priority in the decision-making process.

As a consequence of the abandonment, RQ will give close consideration to the potential for the programming of alternative racing opportunities within the region during the next 7-10 days.

Trainers and riders with pending engagements at the meeting will be notified by way of SMS messaging.

Sunshine Coast (Qld) - Sunday 10th July 2022

Racing Queensland (RQ) confirms that following further inclement weather the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting on Sunday, July 10, has been transferred to the Poly Track at Corbould Park.

The decision to transfer the meeting has been made following a track inspection this afternoon and the determination by officials that irrespective of the weather which prevails over the next few days there is little likelihood that the racing surface on the course proper will recover sufficiently in time for Sunday’s race meeting to proceed on it. The track is also recovering following its taxing workload on what was a very heavy surface at the club’s Caloundra Cup meeting Saturday gone and to run a further race meeting on it this weekend would likely have a significant (and negative) impact on its capacity to accommodate meetings already programmed for it in the coming weeks.

The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to the distances and starting limits of some races on the program. Detail pertaining to these changes is:

• Class 1 Handicap – was 1000m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14;
• Open Handicap – was 1000m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14;
• Ratings Band 0-62 Handicap - was 1200m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14;
• Class 3 Plate – was 1000m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14;
• Benchmark 58 Handicap – remains at 1400m and the starting limit is 12;
• Maiden Plate – was 1800m, is now 1600m and the starting limit is 12;
• Maiden Handicap – remains at 1400m, and the starting limit is 12;
• Three-Year-Old Handicap – remains at 1600m, and the starting limit is 12; and
• Two-Year-Old Handicap – was 1000m, is now 1100m and the starting limit is 14.

Trainers should also note that following the meeting’s transfer there will be no fees applicable to nominations/scratchings, irrespective of the time when they were transacted.

Deagon Trials (Qld) - Friday 20th May 2022

Racing Queensland confirms that the (previously rescheduled) Deagon trials programmed for this Friday, May 20, have been abandoned.

The abandonment decision was made following a track inspection this afternoon and the determination that there is no possibility that the track will be in a suitable condition for the purposes of trialling on come Friday, irrespective of the weather which transpires over the next 36 hours.

Trainers will be advised by way of SMS messaging at short notice.
