  • Dependent on factors such as the weather a significant number of Scratchings can be lodged in short period of time prior to the closing deadline. Racing Australia will ensure all Trainer calls and transactions are completed before closing a meeting.
  • An advanced call logging system allows operators to see the time a scratching call enters the queue.
  • Trainers are urged to stay on hold until they are attended to as the meeting won’t be closed until all calls logged in the queue prior to the deadline are attended to.

 Scratching Details

  • Scratchings are published after Acceptances have been released and are updated live on the Racing Australia Website at the following locations:
    - Acceptances
    - Recent/All Form
    - Scratchings

  • Every Scratching lodged via the Service Centre is double checked to ensure the compilation of the Final Scratchings are accurate and complete.
  • Scratchings lodged online via Stable Assist are released live so trainers are urged to take care prior to submitting a transaction.
  • As a courtesy service Racing Australia will make one attempt at contacting trainers with emergencies who have gained a start via phone.
  • It is important for all trainers with emergencies to be easily contactable in the lead up to the closing deadline on the day of the race meeting.
  • Trainers with emergencies are still eligible to gain a start in the 15-minute interim period if there is a Late Scratching.
  • Group 1 and Northern Territory Scratchings lodged by trainers through the Service Centre and Stable Assist are placed in pending stage and require approval from stewards prior to being finalised.
